Managing Behavioural Safety

Duration - one day

The aim of the course is to discuss and explore the causes of unsafe acts and risk taking in the workplace and determine what can be done to prevent these events from occurring. The course will also provide a basic understanding of Behavioural Safety Theory, and provide simple guidance to help influence and change behaviours in the workplace.

The course will cover:

  • Why people take risks at work
  • The consequences of risk taking for individuals and the organisation
  • Encouraging people to work safer
  • Factors that influence behaviour and lead people to take risks
  • How to encourage safer behaviour and less risk taking
  • Communicating with worker about risk

There will be an informal written assessment at the end of this course
