National Water Hygiene Scheme

Duration - half day

This course is mandatory for any operatives who work with or near any public water supply and/or fully treated/partially treated sources of drinking water.

The course covers the following areas:

  • Introduction
  • The importance of water
  • Water as a carrier of disease
  • Water as a foodstuff
  • Restricted operations
  • Potential for contamination
  • Preventing contamination
  • Chlorination and disinfection
  • Consequences of contamination
  • Ensuring quality: Sampling and audit

The course is accredited by EU SKILLS, and delegates who attend the course and successfully complete the written assessments will receive an EUSR water hygiene ID card.
